A Time of Great Consequence: A Manifesto for Bridging Knowledge and Action

Published on October 1, 2026

NEW MANIFESTO | A new manifesto puts the humanities, culture and lived experience alongside science. The crises of our age need every kind of knowledge!

Together with UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition and the ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at Arizona State University, we're launching A Time of Great Consequence: A Manifesto for Bridging Knowledge and Action — endorsed by several leading scientists, scholars and policymakers, including Janez Potocnik, Co-chair UNEP International Resource Panel and Jayati Ghosh, Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst

In practice, that means learning across these ways of knowing and renewing the institutions that connect knowledge with action. Shared purpose is what carries it forward.

The manifesto arrived ahead of the 2026 UNESCO MOST Forum in Paris last 29 and 30 September 2026, where its principles become a practical toolkit for policymakers.
